OK I know a lot of people say google PR doesn't matter much.. but i'm wondering if within a page of google search results if one page has a higher PR than all the others in the same category and that's the main difference between the sites whether google would use that to boost up their ranks? My site's PR5... as are everyone else's who's anybody in my category... so if i could get mine up to PR6 (which NO ONE in my category has), would that boost me from a position rotating within the top 10 to regularly being #1? About the only difference between me and the few people ahead of me is a slightly higher link count... of course i'm working on fixing that as well but i'm wondering if I were able to get some higher PR sites to link in to get my PR up whether it would really have an effect (at least if only on google). What do you think?anybody, anybody... bueller???PR is king. I just did a review of my main keyword... #2 in my area is a site w/ 1200 links (compared to close to 7k for me), but it has a PR6 (only one i've seen in my area), mine has a PR5 and is #8. They obviously didn't get pr6 through # of links but through quality... time to get my PR higher My website moves up and down from a PR4 to a PR6. However, it doesn't change ranking on Google for my main keywords(#1 spot). I think at this point PR is just a waste of time. I'd spend the time you worry about PR on building relevant useful content for your website visitors. That way you don't need to worry about any thing accept how are you going to be able to keep up with all of your sales PR doesn't affect my SERP either. My site is always in the top 5 for my key words and is usually #1 or #2. My pr has fluctuated from 1 to 3 to 5, then back to 3 and now back to 5 but my SERP hasn't changed at all during that time.
