Poor Rankings, Am I Missing Something?

Well i'm approaching the 6th month my website has been up and running. I have seen 4 google updates so far, have a PR4, hundreds of backlinks according to yahoo (83 of which are showing up under google), nearly 2,000 links for my company keyword "ewebdevelopment", but still place no where in the top 1,000 results for my keywords on google. As usuall I am ranking number 1 for all "ALLIN" type searches...Am I missing something here? What is going on?I have been using the correct anchor text for my backlinks. My site is also listed in DMOZ. My site is http://www.ewebdevelopment.netMy keywords are: "new jersey web design" "new jersey web development" "professional web design" "professional web development"It seems strange that your ranking is THAT bad., but having a second look, maybe you are expecting too much too soon. Problem is, ALL your search terms are EXTREMELY competitive. With 11 Million results for "New Jersey" and 6.9 Million results for "web design", it is a real challenge to stand out. Secondly, most of your competitiors have high pageranks as well and they have done their homework too. Thirdly, most of the other sites have been up MUCH longer than your site, and there is nothing you can do about this fact, except being patient. If I were you, I would place Adwords on carefully chosen keyword strings, create new subpages optimized for less competitive keywords and make the appearance of your site superior to the sites of your competitors, or at least unique. Martin http://geotek.de/ http://ipinfo.info/myipaddress/Are all your backlinks using the same anchor text?try to vary, keep them from unique IP ranges and have external links to subpages on your site as well to make the linking look natural. Also I think your body keyword density for web design might be a little bit high for google.Competitive terms have stricter over optimisation filters.Otherwise your site looks excellent.Only a PR 4 though.darksat wrote:hi,One question in mind?, how can I keep track of my site being crawled by Google for search engine or even for PR. Is there any trick or i have to study the cache pages of google for my site.please help me outkashyapGoogles cache should display the date the site was cached, or you can put a php or asp date on your site which google and yahoo will cache.
