Im webmaster for a property site http://provenceproperties.co.uk/ which has been up and running for about 3 months.Trouble is that none of the full detail pages are getting indexed at all by Google or Yahoo. Non dynamic pages are getting reasonable indexing and home page does OK.Give you an example of a page which gas been up at least 6 weeks but is not indexed http://provenceproperties.co.uk/profiles_details.php?propertyID=25. I have an XML site map detailing the dynamic URls but Google doesn't appear to follow them.I'm considering the mod_rewrite using search friendly URLS but I some suggest this is overhyped.Any suggestions folks check the URL of the page we are on, it is domain/oneword.htmlbut i bet you your entire site that they are running php, so the URL should look like domain?topic=80806but its not. and if you google site:www.ozzu.com every single page from this forum is in the index and better yet, they are all listed as domain/topic.htmlFirstly this makes it easier for users to know where they are. Well not on this forum, but on other sites its Domain/Page-topic-heading.htmlWhich makes it easier to find, but more importantly, google treats it as a static page, which is what you want. Google and yahoo are reluctant to get into pages that use variables because they might get sucked into a black hole of threads and posts etc etc.This is not to say they wont index the page, it just takes longer, it took google 3 days to index my static pages and 3 weeks 2 days to index my variable pages and im sure the only reason that they did index it is becuase I changed from ?Paramater=Variable to .com/thisis-my-page-name.htmlor it might have taken me longer.So how do you do this magical trick, what wand to you wave at your domain name to make all pages static. Transfer 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 into my paypal account and i will tell you lol.Just jokes.If you are running windows you need a program called linkfreeze which costs about $150 US or somethingif you are running linux it is just the httpd rewrite mod for apache which is freezor.do mod_rewrite. Its not overhyped. Its fact that dynamic urls dont get the proper G Love.Cheers guys. Mod_rewrite now done. Found that dynamic pages less than 2 weeks old are indexed but the older pages are not. Do I need to do a 301 redirect to stop the duplicate content penalty.na ull be fine mate. Glad its working for ya shouldnt take more than 2 days to get those pages crawled, then about 4 days after that they will be in the google index.
