Hi guys,I would like, if possible to ask for suggestions on how best to improve my current positioning within google for certain keywords. My site - http://www.egaragesales.com.auAt present my site is floating inconsistantly between pages 8-11 for the same keyword searches. "Garage Sales" AU only. I have commenced SEO assistance this year from an organisation based in Melbourne, and they are instructing me that this could be due to having "Dirty URLS" within my site.As an example...they have instructed me that many pages are not being indexed correctly due to the ".asp?ID=" within some pages.Examples...This page shows the advertisement in a full view - but does not have a PR? Does this indicate that it is not being crawled correctly?http://www.egaragesales.com.au/full_view.asp?id=857Also if you click this link here and then click on page 7...http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n ... 2Ecom%2EauYou can see that many pages are not showing descripions - just the URL?http://www.egaragesales.com.au/suburb.a ... suburb&a...Similar pages http://www.egaragesales.com.au/full_vie ... asp?id=717Similar pages http://www.egaragesales.com.au/full_vie ... asp?id=784Similar pages I have been instructed to rectify this by using a URL rewrite method, but my hosts are refusing to support it. I guess I could always look for another host, but I am somewhat reluctant to do so, as I have had some bad experiences with poor service levels. To this point Ive invested quite some time on this site - both work wise and financially. Id like to see it positioned higher than what it currently is.But where to start? Please help.RJWhat i did to my site is....In my apache webserver I use and modify the mod_rewrite directives. So that...some of my dynamic links can treated like a static link. It works for me. They have a similar post here in regards to my situation:http://www.ozzu.com/ftopic56990.htmlBut in your case...your using asp right? and your webserver? is it IIS? well, don't know much about that one...just giving you some ideasi think that you must to use the mod rewrite!you can download it http://www.isapirewrite.com/download/isapi_rwl_0036.msi form this websiteyou must edit the file httpd.iniThanks for the replies. My big question is...Is it really these URL'S that are causing my site not to be ranked higher than what it is?Am I on the right track here?RJI recall reading on the google site that they have no problem spidering url's with one variable i.e site.com/pahe.php?var1=value1But may have trouble spidering url's with more than one i.e site.com/page.php?var1=value1&var2=value2&var3=value3meman is absolutely right. Google crawles 1-variable-pages quite well. And it has a limitation on many-parameters-urls - usually 500 files from one host.
