Which questions do I have to ask to see how much "full managed" is the "full managed" definition of a company?I founded 8 possible dedicated servers that will be ok for my forum (in 8 different sites), and all of them come fully managed. But I am absolutely unable to manage a server, setting its firewall, installing patches, etc.. I never did this before and I don't have time to learn, so I need a truly 100% managed offer. So I ask you if you can write me a list of questions so that I can ask them to the sales rep. to find out how much are they full managed, and which ones are the fullest managed.[examples: "will you set the firewall?" or "will you automatically take care about patching sofwares?"]Thank you.I am having a great time here at wht.I am sorry if my question looks weird, but my problem is that not knowing that mansions are involved in managing a server, I wouldn't recognize a good full managing service from a poor one.And I absolutely need a good one! The consideration to ask would also play a large part in your budget.
Such as is it for a single forum? Will you be adding more sites(Such as requring a control panel), How big is your forum(in terms of spec).
Do you have any idea how large of a server do you need? Compare that with your budget and maybe people could actually recommend some reputable fully managed hosts. The consideration to ask would also play a large part in your budget.

My budget is actually no more than 150 USD / month.
I will not add any other site to the server.
I am looking for at least a Pentium 4, 2.4ghz, 1gb ram. About hard disk and bandwith, I don't have any particular requests. About managing, I do!
Thank you, Scott.Mc.I'd ask them if they are pro-active or reactive. A proactive host will fix problems without you even knowing it, i.e. if your server crashes they'll physically walk over and reboot it. A reactive host wouldn't restart it until you point out that it's down and need it started up again.Just a quick example Thank you NhojOhl I'll definetly ask for a pro-active management!..any other suggestions?Sorry guys, but I feel very disoriented. My plan was to change hosting in the first days of december, but when I understood I needed a server, and that a server needs abilities that I will never get.. well, I am very confused and I absolutely don't know how to find which of the companies I selected can give the best management. The problem is that I don't know what to ask them to find out how much will they manage my server, because I don't know what mansions are involved in managing a server! This is a very bad situation, I am losing a lot of time. Not too much else to ask for....as long as they have Kernel Upgrades, OS patches Backups and restoration help if needed (only on servers with 2 or more drives) Cpanel/whm Updates PHP updates Mysql updates System pre installed services updates. ( we do not update 3rd party scripts installed) WHM/Cpanel assistance includes but not limited to, creating, deleting, setting up, email and dns PHP compilation MySQL optimization SSL configuration and installation Custom DNS configuration Email troubleshooting FTP troubleshooting High Server Load troubleshooting Best Effort Third Party Application Support Hardware Replacement SLA 2-6 hours Compromised Server Recovery Software Firewall Installation and Configuration Failed Drive service restoration, we will assist in restoring of all accounts to our ability Database corruption assistance Assistance with system alerts or warnings Hands on help with preinstall system settings High Bandwidth consultation needsYou shouldn't have any problems, found this on another site, i cant remember where but I saved it in notepad a while back...Thank you very much NhojOhl! In some webhosts the term fully managed has different meanings, so this is in fact a good request. If we are just a customer, not a reseller, and want to focus on our business, we can't loose time doing sys admin. Handling the admin to a 3rd party company isn't also a solution for everyone.Thank you very much, Affiliate7, this is exactly my situation. You and many other people. When I bought my first VPS I thought "I haven't time to optimize and keep an eye on everything". I also saw lots of 3rd party services, but I would prefer to go with a company that provides hosting and full management. I've seen many 3rd party management companies, but I can't give a personal opinion about any one.
