I have a domain called the shroud-of-darkness.com and I had set up a phpbb 2.0.22 forum on it. Prior to the upgrade, everything was working a-okay with the former. After the upgrade, I tried to login to the admin cp on the forum. Login went well, except for one thing. On the left of the screen is suppose to be the navigation menu for the admin panel. Only it's now completely missing. There's nothing there but a blank white space. I had inquired about this at the phpbbhacks support forum thinking that it might have been a hack related issue, but after they viewed my list of hacks, they said to ask about this here.

The server the domain is on is: server98

I'm not sure if you'll be needing the forum url, but here it is just in case: http://forum.shroud-of-darkness.com/

If there is any other information you need, please let me know. I hope someone can help me as I'd hate to have to remove it and start all over again

Thank you! Happy holidays!

PS: I've included a screenshot of the admin CP so you can see what I'm talking about
Don't know if you have tried the phpBB forums or not for help.
I think that your problem might be related to the template that you are using. I have several boards based on phpBB 2.0.22, and have not experienced that problem. Most of the templates that I use are based upon subSilver, however. One of the alternate templates on one board is not based on subSilver, and since the upgrade, it looks weird when viewed in Firefox, but looks normal in IE 7. In that I will be migrating this board over to phpBB3 in a few months, and since there are two other templates for users to select, I haven't attempted to troubleshoot it. I mention this to you since the screenshot that you posted is in Firefox.

Here are some things to try:

1. If you haven't already checked this, see if the problem also exists using IE.

2. The ACP uses frames, and the left frame is not displaying. Try to right click in the whitespace and reload the frame. If that doesn't work, since you are using Firefox, right click select "this frame" "open frame in new tab".

3. Check the support thread on phpBB.com for the template that you are using, to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

4. If none of those things worked, and if subSilver is still in your installation, switch the style in your profile to subSilver. However, if override user style is set to yes in the configuration and since you are unable to access the configuration panel in ACP, you might need to change that value in the config table of your database via phpMyAdmin in order to be able to change the style for your username. If you do need to do this, browse the 'config' table of your forum database, and edit the 'override_user_style' column, changing it to "0". This will allow you to change the theme setting in your profile.

I hope this helps.

--Bob
Thank you, I appreciate that. I know it's not the template. The template looks fine in both IE and firefox. I'm going to have to assume that it's one of the hacks and just start all over again.

Looking at the error logs, it would appear to be the templates. I PM'd you asking for some other details so that I could investigate further, if you let me have that info - I'll take a look.
The problem is with one of the admin hacks you have installed.
If you look in your forum directory you will see I have placed a new directory for you labeled admin-nomods. You can use this directory to verify that the admin hacks are the problem.

-First rename the admin directory to admin-old
-Then rename the admin-nomods directory to admin
-Now login to your APC and the left panel menu will appear

I will let you have the fun of figuring out which hack is causing the problem
