PHP Date to hours ?

I'm trying to do a countdown calling from mysql databaseso lets so date and time now are : 2012-05-12 03:00:00and mysql column date is : 2012-05-13 03:00:00countdown counts from now's date to columns datebut there's a problemyou see, difference between date is one day,how to convert this day to hoursfrom 12 to 13 is 24 hours .. how is it done
