I know this isn't realistic but for my own use, I need to know if there is such a thing as a compiler for the PHP language that may allow me to make one particular application I programmed into a standalone program.
Is this possible? Any links or help is appreciated.
Thankyou,
Lesterwell actaully there is some programs that do just that. but I think some don't have anything to do with mysql.
I beleive there is a mention of one on these forums. been some time ago so maybe a search.
what is kind of does it make the php scripts and such in a E-Book format. let me look look at home as I might have some links for ya.here it us bud. think ther eis others out there but have to search
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://netcity2.web.hinet.net/UserData/capacito/wwi/default.htmWow">http://netcity2.web.hinet.net/UserData/ ... ult.htmWow</a><!-- m --> thankyou scoutt so much I had the feeling it would be you that would give me the answer to this question.
Thankyou Is there a way I can compile a PHP script, and it will still run as it did before?
I may have to give a script to somebody, and I don't want them to be able to view the source code... is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks! }actually yes but it has to be on the server and it costs a lot. other than that no, that is why php is open source. Thanks a million scoutt!!
I did some research and found exactly what I needed! It's a whole lot cheaper to have the scripts compiled, then to worry about having legal issues with fuzzy contracts... so what if they get my 'compiled' code, what can they do with it? LOL
Thanks again! :rocker:what did you find out? what program? The software from <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://netcity2.web.hinet.net/UserData/capacito/wwi/default.htm">http://netcity2.web.hinet.net/UserData/ ... efault.htm</a><!-- m --> is the only I have found that will allow a PHP script to be converted into a standalone executable file. And I did have a really good root around.
I quite like it - it is simple to use, and also quite cheap for what it allows you to do.
The only problem is if you use MySQL as a back-end database. I think that it is not possible to do a standalone in this case.
edit:
I don't think that the link works anymore.
