hi v7...its around 2 months or so since i started learnign about seo but i m ashamed to say i only tits and bits and what i think is i m not following a sound and proper approach to learn seo in a right way...
so basically my aim is to perfect the art of seo..i know its easier than done but obviously its not a thing which cant be lernt....as of now i m reading blogs where some info is there some is not...just like i said info scattered all over

so basically my question is how do i learn seo right from start right from step 1 in a proper systematic approach so that i can rank for the words i wwish to...

i hate the fact that i rank no. 1 for "abcd xyz keyword1" nd no. 20 for "abcd xyz keyword2" even though keyword1 and keyword2 are synonyms of each other

so plz tell me a systematic approach and best sites to start from the scratch without deviating. Hi there.

I would say that to start from scratch, you would need to read every bit of information you can get your hands on. Make your own opinions from that, i.e form your own style and then hone it until you feel its perfect. You could focus on one aspect of SEO, or you can combine many different forms into one complete "package", if you will.

Cricket has a school where she teaches SEO, V7n has posts all over the forum detailing every aspect of SEO, with tips and tricks etc.

I started the same way, with reading, until one software package I used, offered PIM (Professional Internet Marketing ) certification. Either way, reading and implementing what you read to gauge how it works is an excellent way to get going, and perfect your SEO skills.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you. Quote: Originally Posted by Dreamrage Hi there.

Sure read about the basics, but ultimately just do, test out different strategies yourself, pick small scale keywords and rank for them, see what works and what does not. Choose 10 different decent keywords, where each one could be a decent money maker and throw everything at them. Stay consistent, every day aim to put x number of links up and y number of pages. Don't expect instant results. yeah i will try my biggest fear is doing something which is entirely wrong and something like which i think is right but is entirely wrong Quote: Originally Posted by gingerlyspicy yeah i will try my biggest fear is doing something which is entirely wrong and something like which i think is right but is entirely wrong The worst thing you can do is nothing

You will surely make mistakes but by having a diversity of websites and using different tactics you should be able to hit on the right tactic. It is not that easy to ban yourself from Google by your own actions (if it were then sites would be constantly getting knocked out of the SERPs by their competition). yeah i m starting a couple of small sites to experiment the different tactics will dig deep in seo from now on and i hope i get success Quote: Originally Posted by gingerlyspicy yeah i m starting a couple of small sites to experiment the different tactics will dig deep in seo from now on and i hope i get success Expect to fail a lot. Don't quit your day job. Best way is to focus on daily achievable goals.

10 articles, 10 blog comments, 1 hour keyword research, create 1 video. Getting 100 twitter followers etc. Quote: Originally Posted by goldsun Expect to fail a lot. Don't quit your day job. Best way is to focus on daily achievable goals.

Getting 100 twitter followers etc. yeah right.i will make some short term goals i just can say one thing....SEO is like a big sea, and you have a bucket to take water from that sea. the only way to learn about proper techniques and ways of SEO is to READ READ and READ...
you have to struggle, you have to make yourself up to date, you have to study each and every information, try to explore the high PR sites, their styles of writing, template, back links, blogs, forums every things.
then you will gradually start learning about SEO.

thanks To start with scratch you need to understand the business potential of the website for which SEO being done. It is all about keyword analysis where you find a keyword of more importance in the business point of view many not searched by the users. You need to do research on the keywords people or customers use to find the kind of business. Google adwords and many other tool help in this cause.

Following that it is all about on page and off page issues which you find all around this forum. There is no "perfection" in SEO, it just pays off over time with the right optimization techniques, experience, hard work, and patience! thanks guys
