Pentaho Report Designer, view html text

I want ask something in Pentaho Report Designer. It is about read long text from database and view it in report. I had change the attributes of rich-text-type to text/html and the report can view html tag as good as I want.But my report not as perfect as I want. I also still need HTML tag \[code\]<ul> <li>\[/code\] in my report to make my report prettier.I had input the \[code\]<ul> <li>\[/code\] tag in my long text, but still can't viewed in my report.Is that possible I do that with Pentaho?
