you can take a look at http://code.google.com/speed/page-speed/ which will give you an idea how Google is looking at your website
if you use Firefox then you can install a plugin called "firebug" it has got a feature which helps you to check at the download speed part by part. this really help to find out the codes that is causing the problem with your download speed.

you can use iwebtool for you purpose Remove unwanted javascripts, and re-compile images for "web" ?! you can use both http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test and http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ i have been using tools.pingdom.com from long time very useful Page Speed of your blog plays a vital role in SEO.
So work on it.
Both google page Speed checker and pingdom are good.
