I use some features (mostly javascript) on my business page that slows down page loading such as:
Google Adwords tracking
Facebook plugin
Online customer chat
Affiliate click tracking
Google +1 button
All these features slow down page load, and my load time is about 3s on most of my pages. Mainly because of these things that one way or another is either needed or provide a better experience for the user.
So, now I get lower SERP ranking for using these tools? Slower speeds can affect the way spiders crawl your site, which could hurt you. I know that, but the issue here is that the things I've added are things that in general improve the user experience OR is Googles own slow stuff. So why should I get hurt by that if the cause is not just a slow page?
If that would be true, the suggestion from Google must be to remove all the items in my list? Would that actually be a better site for the user and Google? Well are all those things necessary on every page? Maybe you could trim or spread out some of those features?
That is a good question RE: Google's spider being slowed down because of an external source file from Google (itself) and if that's counted against you - I don't have a confident answer either way for you. Rearrange the coding so they load last. Gives the appearance of loading faster. if you are talking about google crawl, then you need to modify your code and reduce some of the flash and images
if you are talking about user experience in the page load speed, you can try some plugin that can improve your website load speed such as WP super cache. However, you need to use wordpress if you want those plugins. It is the real fact that Javascript slows down your web pages. Solution for you is to reduce the unwanted scripting from your website. Don’t get scared these JavaScript will not hurt your website search engine ranking. better to have less than 1.5seconds is preferable by Google..... You are only as slow as the last item to load. Take a look and see which feature is the slowest and concentrate on seeing what you can do speed that feature up or if it is that slow, remove it.
Features are are great but if users get impatient and leave before they know what you have on your page, then it just does not matter. Quote: Originally Posted by webnitro I use some features (mostly javascript) on my business page that slows down page loading such as:

So, now I get lower SERP ranking for using these tools? I don't think these really affect your rankings... As far as I know, javascript is not to affect search engine rankings negatively as it is now crawlable and indexable by search engines.
