opening IE window from JAva Application

Im writing a java application (standalone, not applet) and Im trying to getit (the application) to open an IE window or NEtscape and get it to loada url from the program..(program sends URL to broswer, and opens a new one if browser window is notopen)Is this possible to do? if so, any help or suggestions..thanks
