open page and call function from other pages

I have two pages. The first one, \[code\]pay.html\[/code\], contains:\[code\]<a href="javascript:showHint()">Click me</a>\[/code\]but the function \[code\]showHint()\[/code\] in on the second page.How can I open the second page and call the function from a link in the first page.
