I proved myself the most horrid of hacks by doing coloured scrollbars on my website. Which I switched from HTML 4.0 to 4.01, the scrollbars went back to their defaults. Don't coloured scrollbars work with HTML 4.01?Are you using a strict DTD? I am not 100% sure, but I believe coloring of the scrollbars does not work with a strict DTD.

Besides, it’s bad. The scrollbar is a part of MY browser, not YOUR webpage. Leave mah browser alone!HTML 4.01 Strict. I was using 4.0 Transitional.

*Grins, grabs paintbrush, and paints your scrollbars*if you manage to paint his monitor where his scrollsbars are supposed to be.. that would be utterly evil lol

his scrollbars are changed without u coding anything hahaahOriginally posted by Mr Initial Man

except me * pokes ... runs * :PLessee... Bright pink for the face... purple for the track... YELLOW for the arrows... yeah... looks about perfect.

Hmmm, wait, it doesn't scroll when the window does. Ah, well, better get the white-out and start all over again.scrollbars (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26222&highlight=scrollbar">http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showt ... =scrollbar</a><!-- m -->)Congratulations on getting them back on topic Fang. Mind you, they haven't posted anything else yet... :rolleyes:Aren't the commands that change the scrollbar color proprietary to IE?
If so, then strict HTML would forbid it.They are proprietary, but I believe you can still use them with strict as long as you don't validate......

Goddamn you, Fang! I've gotta leave now, when someone reminds you you were once THAT much of a newb. Jesus, I didn't realize it was that bad, even. I'm considering going back and editing all my posts to simply say "Sorry."Originally posted by Ben R.

We've all been there. :D Heh. It's kind of hard to imagine some of the users out here (you one of them) even being beginners, though.
