"Object doesn't support this property or method" after the o

In a popup window, user can click a button to trigger some actions in the opener window (ONCLICK="opener.buttonClicked()..."). This works fine if no action has been taken from the opener window. However, the error "Object doesn't support this property or method" will occur if the user has taken some actions from the opener, e.g. simply rereshing the page.

Any idea?
