Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but...
I want to restrict one of my webpages so that it can only be opened from a previous one.
(for example, you go to my homepage, and you click on the "personal information" link and it asks for a password and such, and forwards you to my personal webpage. However you cannot type in the actual address of this page, such as www.mysite.com/homepage/personalpage.html)
Get it?

Is there a simple way to do this? Is there any free Download s I could use? I just don't want someone finding out about me.

Also, I'm considering encrypting this page. Does this present any new problems with browsers. You'll need to do this with PHP or some other server side code.

Ask in the PHP forum, or wait until a handy Scoutt finds this thread.

Oh look, here he comes now...That's too bad. I don't know a thing about PHP, not only that, my free website provider doesn't support PHP, CGI etc. but does support only ASP/ASP.Net and SQL. (www.brinkster.com)
I'm trying to do this site as free as possible. I even found a hosted traffic counter that's free. I only expect about 5 people a month to my site (it's a "supplement" to my resume) so I don't want to pay anything for it.
If I was planning on traffic, I'd pay for a host with proper PHP/CGI abilities.Hellow, I might be able to help you out - i know some ASP and i think it would be very easy to do whatever you just said you were after - sorry lost the plot but i know asp ... www.barkingsheep.com www.globalprocesssystems.comsidenote:

the fake url you posted actually existed. What the mysite page?yeahLOL:D :D
