Well here i am again asking for some more advice on why i am not ranking for my main keywords - "wedding website". Other keywords have kept going up, i have even been recording them - Quote:I just sent a bot to your site and I think I see what is happening ..."affordable wedding website" - appears 2 times in an <h5 tag, more importantly "wedding website" - appears 14 times most are bold test. All very good."Wedding Website Design" - appears in the title and description meta tags (invisible) but it only appears 1 time on the page.Strangely the phrase is broken by <b tagsQuote:Yeah but what i mean is that for "wedding website" i am no where in seach results.Sorry if i have misunderstood you. i've just checked my sites.....and they're nowhere to be seen in the results either....not even in the top 1500! it may be because my sites aren't that old......who knows..... WOW ... you certainly have a lot of work to do. The keywords you want (wedding website) are extremely popular. (Results 1 - 10 of about 3,320,000 )Not impossible ... but certainly a lot of work and patience are going to be needed.Personally I would focus more on your product. You are competing with every wedding planner, wedding invitation, and bridal gown website in the world; with such a general key phrase.Focus more on something like "wedding website templates" (Results 1 - 10 of about 199,000 ). You have a better chance of attracting visitors who are looking for a site like yours. You are going to have alot of work to do. I mean #1 for "wedding website" has a PR of 7. It is not impossible though. I have many sites where I am a PR of 5 and am in the top 5 for over 5...6...7 million results. Have you checked your positioning in MSN or Yahoo? I have found that when I do well in MSN/Yahoo and low in Google, my onsite copy is well written, but the importance of the site is low.I also see that you still do not have a DMOZ listing. I feel this is so important in getting ranked high.Another thing. If you want to place even higher for "affordable wedding website", stick affordable in your title.I think your site is also pretty new. Your inner pages do not have any PR as of yet, so they will need to build up, which then will further build up your homepage PR.And the last thing. If you do have trouble in the future, you may want to try http://www.wedding-website-designs.com or something in that context.Mr Smith wrote:hi tone2k11, a search for "wedding website" revealed lots of tough competition.you need lots of work, patience and time.and vetofunk pretty much said everything that I wanted to say..- you need dmoz to get higher rankings.- your competitors already have dmoz listings btw, it may work out if you try contacting these competitors for link exchanges. you never know.Ouch ... it just seems to go from BAD to WORSE!I was going to say if you are really serious then just try to outdo the competition. So I figured you could just create more pages ... then I did site:www.competitor.com. You have a lot of work to do!The answer Results 1 - 10 of about 16,000 from http://www.competitor.com OK, then maybe you could out link them? Wrong again ... Results 1 - 10 of about 1,120 linking to http://www.competitor.com (and you know that is not all the links).I go back to my original advice ... focus on your products, wedding website templates.Ouch! that hurt!Well my pages used to all have a PR of 3, this was when the url of the site would look like this "www.wedding-designs.co.uk/html/templates.htmlI then changed it so it was published flat (http://www.wedding-designs.co.uk,templates)So i am going to have to wait for google to give the pages a PR of three again.I am on the first page of the new msn search (which has not been relesased yet) for keyword "wedding website" so hopefully i want shift to much. I also rank well for many of my other main keywords.DMOZ are doing my head in. Submitted to them about 4 months ago, i posted in there forums after a month and they said that i am still waiting for a review. I have got to wait untill xmas untill i can ask again (what a nice xmas present it would be if i got listed!)I am running out for ideas of where i can get links from. Just going to have to dream up some more search terms with the word wedding in them.Thank you all for your help. My next site is also going to be a pain in the arse! as i was going to go for "website design" Think i might concentrate more on "hampshire web design" as thats my local area.Once again. CheersTonyvetofunk wrote:You may only have to use it once in the title, description and content to have it work. I would just test.Quote:Remember to try link exchange forums.Tone2k11 wrote:
