NOODP

Google and MSN have started to use the NOODP Meta tag. You know how sometimes google will use your site description from the ODP as your site description in serps, Well this tag stops them doing this. I think this is a good idea, because websites and page change as time goes by, The Dmoz entry does not though. So how does this work then, if I use the NOODP meta tag, Google and MSN will use the current description from the actual website and not the ODP description?Yeah. Sometimes (i don't know under what circumstances) google will use the description from dmoz as the description of your site in the SERPS. If they do this for your site, and you don't want them to, The noodp tag will stop it. I don't think they will start using your description tag from the site unless they have to, They would be more likely to show an section of text from the body of the page that has some keywords or the search phrase in it.Cheers (me)man.
