Hello
My site was popular around 8000 unique visitors daily, active forums etc.
I went into hospital and the user base slowly plummeted in 2009. By the time I got out in 2010, we had just 32 users. I thought best way to tackle this would be to redesign the site.
Site redesigned, and fully running by May 2010, although no traffic picked up. I have put the name out by word of mouth. The only meta tag we had was HTML Code: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">Now, I have worked and worked the last 2 months and tried to re-add all the seo features, from having 2500 daily unique visitors (known bot IP's removed). Has suddenly plummeted to 1000 unique visitors - I have built this back up to 2800, however how long before I start to see results from SEO. This is probably not what you want to hear, but I don't know if anyone will be able to give you an answer without knowing what your URL is and looking and seeing what other issues there could be.
Aside from SEO do you have any social media presence on the site as well to make it easy for people to share your content? Could always help get the word out about a site. Are we allowed to post URL's here?
If so here is mine, my posts are currently moderated before you see them so if not sorry I am a member of so many forums its hard to keep track. (runehints.com)
So, how long before I should start to see results from google? Yahoo, MSN, Bing etc?
MOD NOTE:
Yes, this forum is moderated, and you've posted that url in half your posts, so it's starting to get removed because it's gone from questionable to blatant self-promo. OK, I'm sorry to say this, but that site needs SEO work. Your SEO is in diaper. I am working on the SEO - its been what 2 weeks since I started - So far added a lot to seo = was a low rank and going by woorank for advise - know of a better or alternative?
