No response frm phpadmin MySQL on WinME

I installed the latest PHP and the latest myPHPadmin and the latest MySQL on my Windows ME to learn more about PHP. What I'm puzzlled with is that, I can access the database through mysql> and also, PHP is working perfectly alright. The only problem is that myPHPadmin can't work properly with the values from how I access the database through the MS-DOS mysql.It doesn't display ANY databases on screen.

Thanks a lot if youy can help, as I'm really dumbfounded by this problem.
