"new thread button" help vb3.7.3

Using vb 3.7.3, I am trying to add a new "thread button" beside "post reply" on a thread.
I have used the search and got a couple of answers.. eg..

Search in showthread template for 2 instances of bla bla, but i search and those instances are "not found", so i presume its for a different version of vb.

Anyone got the hack for 3.7.3 or some other way to do this ?

Any help greatly appreciated
