I purchased a url on Monday and by Tuesday night it had a page rank and the first page was in the index. As to mu knowledge no one else has ever owned this name. There are no links pointing to the site and the dns had only just started to propagate and I was in the search engine. Of course my PR is 0 and I don't rank for anything but I got a page in the index in one day. Is this odd? Anyone else have this experience? How did google find this site?it'd be a lot easier if you gave us the domainthere are a lot of possibilities, really.happened to me also:http://www.ozzu.com/other-google-information-and-resources/google-fast-t23361.htmlI wouldn't be very surprised if both are a result of the google toolbar, myself...did you use adsense on the page?If you are going by your Internet explorer Google Page rank.... Thats not nessicarily trueYour toolbar attempts to "guess" the page rank of sites that are not yet ranked....I thought when a site was unranked or not in the index the toolbar would read "Current Page is not ranked by google". Just like this post.phaugh wrote:Google Toolbar do not guess the PageRank. But yes I did read somewhere that Google PR index do shows (sometimes) up the PR of the nearest page for the pages which not indexed. If your rendering adsense ads then Google will spider extra fast!ClareIt happens sometimes --- remember that your page will be indexed when google spiders the link to your page. While google might spider one site every 3 days, that means it can take anywhere from a few seconds to 3 days to get indexed.I've also had sites/pages indexed that I never linked to, and I would guess that's the google toolbar reporting new pages.discountdomains wrote:Its best not to rely on info in your Log files about Google visits but to actually take a look yourself. I have had website go on in 48 hours because it was linked from a PR 5 page. I think the greater the PR of the link from page the quicker you will be added. One thing which I seems to notice is indexing by goggle is quiet fast if your site has an adsense account, and not only that goggle spider will reindex you many times in a short time. But first you should have permission from goggle to open an account with them. My advice to people who have done new SEO work on their site and if their PR is greater than 3, apply for goggle adsense account you will find googlebot activity within three or four days. (max.)
