There are some points I want to make regarding new installations and upgrades of ASP+. I have been working with iNNERHOST in the last few days getting ASP+ installed and I have knowledge :)

1] Most know this but you must have Windows 2000 server.

2] If you are upgrading from NT 4 to Windows 2000, you must have Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Check here for more.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/support/default.asp

3] ASP+ is a RAM Hog. It needs a lot. I am not sure what the
minimum is but you will be well over 128 quickly on a busy server.

4] IE 5.5 is required to be installed on the server.

5] There is a lot to it. People doing clean installs are having higher success rates from what I have read/know so far.

6] Pay attention to Scott Guthries posts and articles for
getting the most out of your ASP+.

Please refer to the documentation from MS in number 2
before upgrading or installing.

Rob

The huge success of ASP was partly due to the fact that developers were able to code and test their applications using win 95/PWS. If ASP+ is going to be successfull then microsoft should come up with a similar arrangement.

Right now a lot of developers(like me!) are left out because they do not have access to the Win 2000 Server. But it is early days yet.. and this is only the pre-beta.. hope Microsoft comes up with something.

Ravi

Hello Ravi. The plan is when the "official" release comes, ASP+ pages will be able to be served from Windows 9X, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. However, in this pre-beta release, it only works on Win2k... you will eventually be able to develop ASP+ pages on your Windows 98 box, but not right now... :-)Thank you for recommendations.
I need another advice. I have 128 MB RAM on 450 Mhz Pentium workstation with Windows NT 4.0 OS and enough free sopace on hard disk. I am going to upgrade it to WinNT 2000. Could I run ASP+ on my Personal Web Server or still need Win 2000 Advanced Server?
