We started hosting services with a dedicated server on .com domain. We want to provide our services in UK as well and for that we purchased .co.uk domain. But, creating a new website and purchasing a different server is not feasible at the moment. We want to use same server for some of our UK customers. I heard that using IP method is not SEO friendly, it detects IP of specific country and redirects the visitor to that country page.

What will be the best way to use similar website on .co.uk domain with same server? We just want to show prices in local currency. We don't want to harm seo at all because we are new in business and willing to grow in rankings. Yes that's right. If you want visitors from a specific country it's good to host your site with the local server. If you're targeting global market then it doesn't matter which server you're using. This depends on the market you want to target. If you are targeting the global market, then you can use the same server. It will not matter. But if you want to target the local market, then its better to use a local server and host your site with that.It will not harm your SEO strategies. I can only confirm that. If you want to rank for a specific country try to
get hosting in that country. Not quite sure what you mean as what you've written is a little confusing, but I'll try and help as best I can.

What (I think) you may be worrying about is a duplicate content issue. If you plan to have the exact same site on a .com and .co.uk domain with just different prices (to reflect currencies) then you will run into duplicate content issues. To run a separate site on a .co.uk domain, you will need to make the content different enough that you won't incur any problems from google (check amazon for inspiration).

If, however, you are talking about a geo-targeting issue then you will need to specify a geographic target in webmaster tools for a .com. You can not set a geographic target for a .co.uk as it automatically targets the UK.

I wouldn't worry to much about the ip of your host. Yes it is one signal that Google uses to determine a geographic target but having the .co.uk domain is a much stronger signal that should ensure your site will reach the relevant target audience.
