I am a full time graphic designer who has developed a few simple web sites for people.
My latest project is for a small community (where I live), and I am doing it for free, but I will get some advertising and exposure from it.
I want it to look really nice, and I would like to have an effect of pop-up or cascading menu items. I have found some free scripts but they are all text, what I want is to able to click on a graphic element and get the same effect.
To give you an idea of what I am shooting for, see these examples:
First, I want a rollover and then a pop-up:

Then I want a submenu hilite and the submenu to disappear upon mouse click.

It's my understanding that a javascript technique would be used for this, so If you have any idea on how I can accomplish this or if you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for providing this forum!
