Hi:
I have an existing Access 2000 database/knowledgebase and I need to code a web-based searchable knowledgebase (based on my Access 2000 database) (i.e. searchable tech support web page). And later, code an "email autoresponder" (i.e. link between software help menu and email software and internet software).
I was originally considering only the following options:
(1) CGI (w/ Perl scripting)
(2) ASP
(3) DHTML (w/ Javascript)
Then someone suggested (4) PHP.
Does anyone have comments regarding the pros and cons of any of these methods/languages?
It's my current understanding that: any of the options would work;
Microsoft Office 2000 tries to make it easy to do (3); there might be
browser compatibility issues with (3/4); (3/4) might be easiest to learn;
(1) might be most powerful; I have to pick one and do it.
