Last year I registered a bunch of domains at 1and1, but I've decided I don't want to renew. They sent me an email telling me that all the domains I purchased are set to automatically renew and that I would need to "take action" if I wanted to let them expire.
So I go to their website and find that you have to go through a whole seperate login system to cancel your domains.
I go to the seperate system and set one of my domains to Expire. It tells me that I have to respond to an email that will be sent (which never came) and that I have to print, sign, and fax a form to tell them that I want my domain to expire!
I've never had to go through hoops like this for any other registrar. I have over 60 domains registered with them, but it looks like I'm going to be transferring them all somewhere else so that I cancel them if I want.
