hi.

i really suck at html (check my site ) and i need to design a new one. i am going for a really simple design. jpeg/gif title block, menu on the left with jpeg/gif background and jpeg/gif buttons, and the main content in middle/right of the page.

can any1 direct me to a good html tutorials site, or give me some pointers? i cant find anything to do with graphic menus.Graphics are gifs, which means that buttons and stuff will be gifs. Jpegs are photo-graphic, so they aren't used for buttons but they are used for photos and stuff like that.Jpegs are photo-graphic, so they aren't used for buttons
Not normally, but they can be.

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is a lossless but paletted format designed for simple, crisp graphics like logos whereas JPEG (Joint Photographers Expert Group) is a lossy format designed for photos, but also useful for backgrounds and complex images.

You should be able to make graphic menus in any good image editor - I use Ulead PhotoImpact, but products such as Adobe Photoshop are good as well. Choose an image editor, then search the web for a tutorial for that package.
And if you need some specific help along the way, though, just give a holler. I'd be happy to help with layout, graphics, html, etc.www.w3schools.com has good tutorials
