mySql_fetch_row and odbc_fetch_row

Hi,

Apologies if this is an old issue, but..

Can someone explain to be why
mySql_fetch_row and odbc_fetch_row
are so completely different?

Also, is there any function that will
offer similar behaviour to fetch_row,
but will work for both odbc and mysql.

I'm slowly giving up my ties to SQLServer,
and coming over to this side of the fence,
but the experience hasn't been fun...
so far. I'm tempted to go back to the
dark side forever.
