Till today morning my site was showing up on the first page of Google for a specific keyword.....but when I checked it after 8 hours it went down to 6th page.....why this could have happened....can somebody please help me in understanding this.....because this has a definite impact on the traffic of my site. You are not the only one. Many have similar experience. Worst still, Google will not tell you why you are downgraded.I've noticed that too, but only after I have submitted crazy articles to improve my backlinks for targeted keywords. Google usually considers this spam and drops my rankings from 2 or 3 to about 7 or 8 (gain roughly 20-30 inboud links per article submission btw specific sites). After 20 or so days of non activity with inbound links, my rankings will improve or stay the same.Cerebro wrote:rinkscharm wrote:whym wrote:This is going to happne from time to time. I track dozens of sites with hundreds of keywords. I always see at least 5-10% of my keywords take huge shifts from time to time. They always bounce back. I would be patient and wait it out for a few days to a couple weeks...and don't make any changes until then.Well......it happens time to time but sometimes it is just a fluctuation for short term and after few time everything becomes fine as earlier. But in some cases like when you post a new article on your site or blog and submitted it on other article submission sites too then generally it appears among top sites with your keywords on google after indexing and you will also find your article posted on other article site among the top rank. but it is just for short span may be because of enough traffic at that time but after few days its ranking drops a lot. When doing the whole article marketing thing, Google will only penalise you if it deems the links from those articles to be of low relevance to your website content, so if you're gonna send out a plethora of articles into cyberspace stuffed with backlinks, better make sure they're extremely to the point. On the other hand, article marketing is great because it reaches a targeted audience, so even if your google PR suffers, your site traffic could still increase.I guess it all depends what you're after. Personally, I'd go with the traffic any day and screw Google, lol.....Very well said.....rinkscharm wrote:Cerebro wrote:
