hi,I have submitted my new site to google.com but it is not yet visible in the search engine.the site is :http://imedia.atspace.com/laptop.htmcould anyone spare me some good seo tips and check my html code to see why it isn't being submitted?thank youHow long ago did you submit it?If you want to increase yuor chances of getting indexed you should be getting some backlinks to your site so google has more chance of finding it on its regularr spidering of the internet..First off, I know this may sound weird - but don't ever submit a site to Google. I haven't submited a site to Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. in years, if ever. There is no need to. It's ALL about the links. Get links to the site and let the search engine spiders "find" your sites on their own. Even one link on a site that gets spidered a lot can get your site spidered in a week, or even within hours. Of course if can still take a week or so to show up in the listings, even for a search for your domain. The more links the better. Vary the link text and description text and keep geting links. And the best advice, unless you own atspace.com, which I assume you don't - you're just hosting there... is to get your OWN domain name. Besides the advantages with the search engines, what if you decide to host somewhere else later on? All that time/energy spent getting links will be lost. Get your own domain name and your site moves with you. Here are some of my tips since my site is 2 months old and got indexed about a week ago..First thing: patience! I waited two months and now it's indexed. Then find some websites with similiar content, put a link for them on your site and then ask the webmaster if they could link back to you. Believe me it works, they are usually friendly guys. And the most important thing is content.. As many people here stated content is king so keep things fresh and do a lot of updates..And if you think your site is good enough put a link to it in the appropriate page of wikipedia. Good luck!very good advise, I noticed that my site is already in msn, will google and yahoo eventually spider the msn network?!dreamscorporation wrote:I'm having a similar problem with a website. The client has an existing URL http://www.hidetheyears.com/ (which is indexed on Google) and they've just added a new URL that mirrors the same site: http://www.htygold.com/The new URL has been up for at least six weeks, but it still isn't showing up in Google, but it can be found in Yahoo and MSN.And odds are very good that htygold.com will NEVER show up in Google. No offense, but why should it? It looks like the same thing and you yourself called it a mirror site. It's the purest form of duplicate content and Google certainly doesn't want that in their index. If they want a new domain, either put original content and make it unique, or perhaps just redirect the URL if it's ideal to use the shorter domain for certain ads or something. But Google and probably MSN, Yahoo etc. will not list both URL's.Hi All, One point I want to say, Google will give you low page rank, if you ll participate in any link exchange program. Back linking is not a good idea To be indexed by google.. U have to follow few guidelines which is already described in google webmasters site ( I am not going repeat it here )Thanks,batu544,http://www.justclick2go.comMaybe you shouldnt call your page /laptop.htm ; you should call it index.htm . That will make things easier when it comes to indexing. Also, have other people have your link on their pages. When google searches their pages and see's your link, Google will follow through to your site. This will get you indexed!Your website is not showing and not yet index on Google because your site is still new. It takes a weeks before it was index and depends on how you submit or promote your site. Get more backlinks by submitting your site to directories and other link building strategies. You can stop talking abouthttp://imedia.atspace.com/laptop.htm The site appears to be gone. That was over a year ago anyway...As for "One point I want to say, Google will give you low page rank, if you ll participate in any link exchange program. Back linking is not a good idea"What on Earth are you talking about? While I don't suggest that you should only participate in reciprocal linking, to say that any back linking is bad simply proves you have no idea what you are talking about. If you want to clarify your statement in some way, I'd love to hear it, but otherwise you have a lot to learn about SEO.My many years of experience and clients' top 10 and many #1 rankings prove that I know what I'm talking about.
