The slow startup time of ASP.Net and MVC web apps has been covred numerous times, and the several standard ways of keeping the app warmed up and responsive. My question is- is there a known reason or reasons for the slow startup? How can any app take 15 seconds to start up? Is there any way this can actually be fixed instead of finding workarounds for it? I'm thouroughly unimpressed and actually concerned that Microsoft's leading edge web technology has such a problem with performance.
