Multiple search on the same page

Hi!I have made search form to search from mysql database. First search will find main categories and while selecting one item from the main category appears another pop up form with subcategories and while selecting the subcategory appears the search result. The problem is to keep both pop up lists on the same page and to able to search from both of them. Now the first pop up is empty while searching from the second one.Does anyone understand what i mean and could help me?Kirsi
