Will search engines like this? Or will my articles end up at the bottom of search engine pages?
Your thoughts please. Ideally you want to have your entire site be focused on one niche. It will make it easier to target to your customers on all marketing levels but especially on SEO. Doing this will let you go after multiple keywords that are all related and have content that all syncs. Google tries to determine what your site is about by reading the text and code. The easier you make it for Google to know what you are, the easier it is for them to index you, and the better chance you have of ranking well.
With that said, if you are going to hit different niches on your site then make sure that each niche is on it's own specific page. Then you can optimize each page for that specific niche and keywords. You can divide your niches into sub-domains i.e. niche1.example.com and niche2.example.com and google will treat them separately. This way, you don't have to buy more domains. Much better if you only focus to one niche. In this way, you only have one direction to promote your site. I guess, it doesn't make a difference as long as you have assigned one page for one niche and all those pages are well optimized. Infact, even if you would be doing the off-page optimization for one particular niche, it would drive traffic for others as well. if you will target one niche then it will be easy for you to promote your website or products. But it does not mean that you can not target more than one niche. Yes you can target but assign different page for different niche. Depens on your SEO skill really. If you have a site about everything then it is not targeted enough for anything. Your post or page which usually about something will have to carry its own weight on SERP without any help from the usually higher ranked main site.
If you are good at SEO obviously you can optimize the page and backlinks the page sufficiently. If i were you and if your having the feature to add subdomain provided by your webhost i would create subdomains. Ex: www.health.nnn.com , www.cars.nnn.com Something like that. yes it is no harm in having several niches on one website. I have similar issue. But sometimes you have to choose a larger segment and then make categories within the website for related niches to it.
It is tough job to rank for all that, but that is how it goes
