Does help optimize a site or make it more accessible say if i had about 50 domains or so, all redirected towards one domain?
Thanks It can help only if these domains receive some traffic.
It will be more beneficial if these 50 domains have some content relevant to your main domain. so in other words it would be better if i made them websites that somehow related to my site i'm trying to receive traffic to? yes definitely. just as long as the other domain is quality made. you may consider the traffic, PR, and relevance. if you make them to stand alone sites you can funnel their traffic and PR thru links to your main site while improving SERP for one way inlinks. just redirecting a zero traffic domain won't help you at all .. rather than redirect you should design and optimize then leave a link there of the domain you want to get higher rank
