I have a business in the health care arena. We have a web site that is an acronym of the business name - no keywords. I have read on a technology forum that it is advisable to purchase multiple keyword domains that relate to your products/services. This is supposed to have both seo and marketing benefits. I'm not clear what these benefits are, or how this is supposed to work. I have also read arguments to the contrary - that you should avoid multiple domains because it can get your site banned, etc.

Can someone explain this? Or point me to an article/site that explains it?

many thanks!
