MS Access to SQL & .asp

Sorry but this may be a real newbie question.

I work in a department that uses access databases. The information is changed many times in the day in some of them (it reflects work we have completed etc.)
The information is directly viewable on one of our intranet pages ( by using .asp) and changes in time with the database updates (without having to upload the pages every time)

Unfortunately we have to move our intranet pages to a diffeent server (which is run by a different dept) and they state we are not allowed to use Access, only SQL. I think its Microsoft SQL.

Getting the databases converted will be handled by someone else but I was wondering if anyone has(or knew where I can get) advice on changing the .asp code.

Also since we are all used to using Access, is there anyway to keep it as the 'front end?'

Appologies if these are really dumb questions
