moving old domain to new domain how?

can anyone help me please step by step..
what i want is this i have an old sub domain ex: old.com and i want to transfer this to www.mysite.com. from different server,different sql..
what 1st step will i do?
if i download my back up sql and open it,i found a lot of url old.com what will i do?if i will edit it and change it to www.mysite.com?
please help to what i do...step by step...tia...
 
First you need to tfansfer all your files and restore your mysql on the new server. Then you need to change the board URL in your vB options.
