Not sure what forum I should post this in, but anyway: Does anyone here have any experience using Moodle on TCH? I have heard that Moodle can be resource intensive, and I am wondering if it would work well on a shared hosting environment. In this specific case, it would be used to manage one grade school class, but would even that be too much for shared hosting using Moodle? If Moodle is not appropriate for shared hosting, does anyone know of a lighter weight content management system for education? Thanks very much for any help.<!--content-->
Hello Darcy,<br /><br />I must admit I have not used Moodle before, but what would you be wanting to teach on there?<br /><br />I would think that it would be able to cope with one class, after all, thats like say only 30 users looking at it and alot more people look at a website then just that.<br /><br />Joomla is a good content management system too.<br /><br />JimE<!--content-->

I usually have between 12 and 20 users logged in simultaneously.<br /><br />In my previous school, I had ten active courses and over 300 active users, with up to 50 users logged in simultaneously. At least twice a year, we conducted online examinations with 50 users all doing multiple choice tests at the same time, with no issues at all.<br /><br />I would suggest that Moodle will be just fine for what you want to do.<br /><br />Anyway, I hope this helps.
