What is the importance of Meta Keywords Tag ? The Meta Keywords Tag help the little search engines to rank your site, just a way to grab as much traffic as you can, but IMO it is optional. the meta keywords tag is nolonger that relevant since google has come out and said that it ignores it. However some smaller search engines still use the keywords tag, so its like a best practice to have them .Also good for a seo since he will know what was the subject focus of that page. On another point, meta descriptions are still important for clickthroughs. Now, there is a common saying that google accepts meta keywords and description. Do anyone know about this?? If yes means, share here please. I am very confused. google has a human sense like when ever we see any book 1st we see title 2nd description abt book and the 3rd is chapter of book same like that google see our website title -description-keywords-contents which should related to our keywords Unfortunately Rosesmark isn't correct, search engines used to determine relevance by this meta tag but no longer focuses on it.
They are much more advanced now and can determine relevance of a document by much more efficient mediums.
Bottom line? Don't waste a whole lot of time on META Keywords attribute, focus on your sites content, and backlinking first. As of two years ago this meta tag are irrelevant in the ranking of some serps.. Do some research regarding this matter.. Meta Keywords are just like fuel, so if you want to target keywords for your business then you need to go through meta keywords to search engine crawler. http://seo-information-4u.blogspot.com/2009/10/meat-tags.html
read here each subject has its own meta keywords, so you must try to figure out your target meta keywords Looks and sounds like the same old argument. Yes, it does, no it doesn't. What's the difference with trying to figure out what it's relevance is? Just provide quality content and descriptions for the user to keep engaged. All this damn "seo" stuff just makes a person's head spin. I as sure that description and title are important the rest a bit less imho
--------------- Back in the early days of the internet, back before search engines were invented, sites like yahoo were like directories. You had to fill out a form, and submit your site do the directory.
When you wanted to find a site, you went to yahoo and searched the directory of sites. You had to go into the categories for the types of sites you were looking for,,,,,, it was confusing and difficult to find stuff.
The meta tags helped tell the directory what categories your site went in.
Fast forward 15 years - we have real search engines now, so the meta tags are not really needed. I think Google dose not give value to meta keyword tag but there is other search engines that looks at meta keyword tags.
