Hello,

I would like to make part of my Web site members only and for those members I would like to charge a membership fee and even have 2 different types of memberships. How do I do that? What would I use? Does Joomla allow you to do that?

Thanks!
Tamie
Joomla will let you create a member section (ie the visitor must have a username and pw) by default, to have them pay for this you would need some sort of addon.

I would set up a joomla test site and go to extensions.joomla.org and see if there are an addon that will let you do what you want.

Another note on joomla... I know I recommended you joomla in another thread. Since then version 1.5 have been released, which is much more simple to use and I believe that it will let us users create much better joomla sites than we used to be able to do (more professional, better looking etc).
Thank you. I have gone over to Joomla and find that they have a lot to offer and I don't know which extensions I need.

I'm also going to be moving a web site over to here, it's with another provide (1and1), they offer a lot of space, but not the mysql thing I need, unless I want to pay double.

Joomla also seems to assumes that you know what you are doing to some degree. Of course I do not.

Tamie

QUOTE (TCH-Thomas @ Feb 5 2008, 05:07 AM)

Joomla will let you create a member section (ie the visitor must have a username and pw) by default, to have them pay for this you would need some sort of addon.

I would set up a joomla test site and go to extensions.joomla.org and see if there are an addon that will let you do what you want.

Another note on joomla...
