Make it Downloadable!

Alright, here's my problem I have a file called chartemp.dot it's a microsoft word template. I want to link to it for Download <!--more-->. I looked around and haven't found anything of use yet, but when I tried a direct path to the file, it just opened it as if it were a website with the ascII script all over the place (at least I think that's what it is) anyhow help would be nice, a solution would be better.<!--content-->Thanks a lot, I actually already zipped it lol I thought of it last night... thanks a lot though...<!--content-->
