I have recently contacted rackspace, the offer i got was extremely expensive. So I'm now looking for another company that offers top notch services and have same the same reputation as rackspace.
do you know any?Well you could tell us exactly what kind of server specifications you are looking for and any more info you think is useful so that people here can give you a recommendation.well, hardware isn't the issue because its everywhere. what im looking for is support. i need a company with great uptime, good managements and reputationWell, some of them that come to mind are Jonesolutions, LiquidWeb, although you mind need to use a specific control panel with them and they might not offer exactly the same guarantees as Rackspace, be sure to look around and ask them before you go out and buy if they can do everything you need them to.If you really think rackspace is extremely expensive, then you need to reconsider your application. Having run up against them with some sales leads who thought I was too expensive, I've gladly told them they should go to rackspace. A starting point of $400/server/month for what they provide is not expensive, it's somewhat astonishing if you actually understand the cost of labor, assets, financing, etc that it takes to compete at an equivalent level. There's always dreamhost.com if rackspace is extremely expensive. There's always dreamhost.com if rackspace is extremely expensive.

I have to say, Brilliant response:)well, hardware isn't the issue because its everywhere. what im looking for is support. i need a company with great uptime, good managements and reputation

Do you want a Linux or Windows box?If you really think rackspace is extremely expensive, then you need to reconsider your application. It also has a 250 GB SATA drive, and 1 GB RAM with 25GB of managed backups.Erika: All solutions that we provide come with a 100% network uptime guarantee and a 1-hour hardware replacement guarantee. You also get 24/7/365 LIVE fanatical support!! You will have your own support team to tend to your specific needs.Erika: All our configurations are custom built and fully scalable.you: how much would that cost?Erika: Now although an accurate quote will come from the specialist, I can tell you that our entry level solutions start at per month for?270-370 Linux (based on a 12 month contract)Erika: Is this a workable starting point for you?you: can you give me price in $ pleaseErika: Sure, where is the billing for this project based?you: i live in franceErika: Ok great!~ The price is dollars would be between $540- $740im ready to pay double price to get fanatic support but not 3 or 4 times more expensive, i need 2 250gb drive and 2gb ramhow much would that cost??Do you want a Linux or Windows box?

Linux :) :agree:That's the problem with Rackspace, they want 12 month contracts so you can get what's called a "good" price. Your needs are not very complex so I think you could get it cheaper than that on a good month-to-month term.i dont care about 12 months contract, the real issue here is the price $540- $740! such server cost around:- $150 @ theplanet- $140 @ jaguarpc- $200 @liquidwebI'd pay $300 for it, no more.It all depends on the company and what kind of guarantees and service level they have. Depending how mission critical the application you want to host is, you might have to pay a lot to make sure your business stays online. It all depends on the company and what kind of guarantees and service level they have. still unreasonable price.
anyway lets get back to topic, im looking for a rackspace "replacement"
liquidweb seems a great one, at least what they promise on their website. the question is: do they keep their promises or not?The real question here boils down to what you need, and for what cost. We're not here to debate Rackspace's prices... What do you actually need, you haven't been specific yet, if you say:*99.9% uptime sla*1 hour response 6 hour resolution on support calls*enterprise monitoring with response within 10minand what hardware you need, for example.we'll be able to help you better, until you give specifics, it is impossible to suggest anything.i need:proactive services monitoring100% or 99.9% uptime sla2 hours responsedisaster recoverysystem security checkinstalling 3rd party soft is a plusserver specs:intel dual core250gb + 120gb disks2gb RAM100mb uplinklinuxwhm/cpanelContact Chris at Cyberwurx.com. He can arrange something for you. I am not sure how much he would charge, but it's cheaper than Rackspace, and his support team is always there. You will get reply within minutes, not hoursThat's the problem with Rackspace, they want 12 month contracts so you can get what's called a "good" price. Your needs are not very complex so I think you could get it cheaper than that on a good month-to-month term. This is the difference between a profitable, and viable dedicated server company, and some company barely scraping by who won't exist in two years. Somebody providing quality services that tie up assets needs to be able to justify replacement of those assets, period. A 12 month contract is not unreasonable. It's called business.how about thisim ready to pay double price to get fanatic support but not 3 or 4 times more expensive, i need 2 250gb drive and 2gb ramhow much would that cost??How about comparing it to the amount of money a good consultant would charge you for the equivalent services? If you seriously think $540 is expensive then you need to learn how to do the work yourself, because what you're trying to do is not financially viable.amc333,Inetu said they don't sell servers to hosting companies. I have already been with the planet, their support is awesome however their servers are not managed. For the time being the only option i have is liquidweb.i still have 2 months before subscribing so maybe things would change :)I would search for the best un-managed server and get a server admin like PSM it really it's the best option.

I once had servers with Theplanet (When they offered managed bult-in) but that showed to be a huge disapointament.

PS: I don't recomend using TP as un-managed servers provider.I think you should spend some more time in offers section. Once you have chosen a few companies just call them and speak to their representatives or send them your requirements. You may also ask for a contract that would guarantee the support level you need.I don't think anyone has asked an important question. But can you clarify "managed". People have different meanings.
