Hello,

I'm looking for a highly experienced server management company to manage my website (www.fileden.com). I'm looking for a company that has knowledge of high volume solutions (LOTS of traffic) - including server clustering, etc.

If anyone knows of some good companies / sys admins it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks.totalserversolutions.comtotalserversolutions.com
What experience have you had with them Robert?Have you considered a total managed solution? (i.e. inclusive of hardware)

When it comes to clustering it requires a lot of cooperation from both the software and hardware sides, you aren't going to get that by using two seperate companies.

DanHave you considered a total managed solution? (i.e. inclusive of hardware)When it comes to clustering it requires a lot of cooperation from both the software and hardware sides, you aren't going to get that by using two seperate companies.DanI second that. When you have a cluster, there are so many things to optimize. You need to be able to monitor disk IO, network IO, cache hits, cache misses, etc. to decide whether you need to add more memory to your nodes, add slave database servers, add more nodes, etc. This is achieved by having monitoring tools and doing software profiling so you can see where most of the resources are spent in your application. Also true clustering is far more complex than looking after a bunch of servers and this is when you'll need to pick your host very carefully. What technologies are you using ?JohnWhat experience have you had with them Robert?None, eth00 is a regular poster on these forums.check out serverwizards.com I have been using them for awhile for quite a bit of successhttp://www.platinumservermanagement.com/ are the best ive usedYou can also look into Rack911, before signing up.. check reviews on each of these companies.http://www.platinumservermanagement.com/ are the best ive used

They wouldn't offer any support on a cluster what-so-ever.. :)The problem being that with a cluster you need tight integration between network, hardware and software.A management company has no control over 2 of those so can't provide the service needed. Also its beyond most management companies knowledge. You'll need to look for specialists in clustering and high-availability and this comes at a price.John
