I am a first year student at university studying Web computing. I am trying to get some projects to do that will aid me in gathering experiance as well as expand my web design knowledge. Any ideas people? i am in the process of building my own web site, i am confident in using HTML, CSS and some PHP and Mysql.as your in university i suggest you go to local businesses and offer to build them a website for free or at a low cost (free works well for making contacts and networking)
you will be surprised how much business you can get from doing a few small favors.Do you know anyone whom has a child in daycare or a private/semi-private Nursery School? If so, contact them and see if their PR officer has a web presence and offer to do one for them (free or very reasonably 'for the experience'). That was what I did the first time and it got me contacts.Where did you go for Work Experience back in secondary school/college?
I get odd-jobs from the folk at the Web design office at which I worked for that two week period.when i was at school we got told where to go lol it was nothing special just argos lol
