I can't seem to find a definition (html 4) of what can and cannot be in the url referred to by longdesc. Can it be any standard text related code? Things like font size and color, bgcolor of the window, tables, forms, other stuff?

Thanks ahead of time.
RON Cif you mean things that you can scecify in the body tag.

you can specify any of the following:

bgcolor - background color

onload - something when document has loaded

text - color o' the text you want defaulted on your website page

vlink - after link is clicked what color should it be?

alink - active link color

bgsound - background sound

and theres also some margrin attributes too.

I may have forgotton some, (please dont hurt me :) )

you cant specify default font size or anything like that, that I know of.

hope this helps

Are you saying that the URL referred to by the LONGDESC is HTML and can contain all of the normal stuff in an HTML doc? I have a feeling that it is a text file but can't verify as my tests don't work at all.

I can't seem to find any example code snippets with LONGDESC.

RON Cwhere does this longdesc go? Is it an HTML tag? I really do not know what you are asking about :confused:The longdesc goes with an <img src=http://www.htmlforums.com/archive/index.php/URL alt="text" longdesc=URL etc.

It is new in HTML 4.0 I gather.

Thanks for help.
