Logo question

Can VBulletin logo be saved and used as .png. Or does it have to be gif?

Reason is when saved as gif via photoshop the image looks really grainy.
 
Sorry for double posting, but seems this doesnt work all the time. Is that true? Because i got a second skin and went to change the logo and it doesnt work. Still the same.

Even though the path is correct:
images/bgear/misc/logo.png

Doesnt change.
 
Hmm it's possible the author of the skin just so happen to include the direct url to the image rather then then a phrase. Just look through your header(most of the time) template and see if you cant pin point if there is instead a more direct url like <img src="/images/logo/logo.jpg"">

Another thing I sometimes do is right click on the standard logo, and find the image path, then just upload my own images to the server over writing the default one, and this way no customization is needed usually.
 
Alright thanks, anyone know why most skins dont have a .psd for VB. Voodoo which is the skin i love.

Anyways ill edit this and let you know if it works!

Edit: Worked, was in the main css.
