I have created a list of spammer IP's based off of my forum.

It may not be a complete list but I figure if we start a list and post IP's which have spammed our forums (Not people you dont like but spambots) then we can keep our forums tidy and not get these crazy registrations.

Please feel free to add your IP list if you wish I will be updating as they come to my forum.

PS Also to ban IP's go to VB Options/User Banning Options
 
I applaud your work Maester..But i think the list would be a never-ending story..A good Captcha and a mod to ban certain ip ranges ie Countries you don't want on your forum is available..
 
Thanx but the methods you listed dont work as well. The newer spam bots have a method to get around this somehow. I had it enabled and they still got around so I disabled it and started banning IP's. I know its alot of work but I would rather do it this way then have members deter away because they hate having to input the captcha all the time. Far as banning countries wouldnt that mean banning innocent people?
 
I should re-phrase that sorry, it allows you to moderate the ip's,from the countries selected.Then obviously it's up to you..I've had a lot of conversation's about captcha and i must agree with you.A bot is automated as is captcha but if you put something in place were you,yourself are placing a personal question? in other words not automated.Then i don't think a bot would get round that..
 
Well the issue is I have my forum moderated atm so any registered user has to be approved but when you get 100 people who needs to be approved and have to go through each one of them its a pain for me. It just seems easier for me to let them post if they spam then I delete posts as spam then ban IP and user just my input. Im not disagreeing with you but in part its more of a pain for me. Thank you for your input though this is my first contribution to VBTeam
