What is link value and how is it calculated? link value is for back links,if the site you add back links have little back links and it's pr is high, your link value of this back links is high, that is to say ,the pr he give you is more high Link value is the value your site gets due to a link in another site.
That mainly depends on the page rank , traffic of the linking website. Those above are quite a short (but valid) answers.

Here is more detailed one. The link value depends on the following (incomplete) list of factors:
- match of the niche between the donor and the acceptor sites
- match between the link text and the text on the donor page
- match of the link text and the content on the acceptor site
- number of OBLs on the donor page
- is the donor page indexed by Google
- does the link have rel=nofollow attribute
- does the donor's robots.txt disallow indexing the donor page
- does the metatag "robot=noindex, nofollow" exist on the donor page
- the age, authority, trust level and PR of the donor site
- PR of the donor page
- number of clicks from mainpage to the page where the link is placed
- backlink portfolio of the donor site
- age of the link
- the link is standalone or incontent one (later is better)

Thats seems to be it in short ;-) Quote: Originally Posted by WebMonk What is link value and how is it calculated? Hi,

Simple speaking, contextual back links with your targeted keywords as anchor text from niche relative dofollow sources would usually have more values for SERP purpose.
